Doran Coins is a numismatic dealership based in the quiet East Central
Illinois village of Greenup. Doran Coins buys and sells coin & currency of
the United States and the World and also sells numismatic supplies, and
offers the services of Consignments, Appraisals, and Numismatic
Education. Doran Coins is present at coin shows in Illinois & Indiana and
on the internet at www.dorancoins.com. At the present time, it does not
have a retail shop, but at some point in the future one might open.

Michael Doran, the owner of Doran Coins, has been
collecting coins & currency for almost 20 years and has
been dealing for over 10 years. He holds life membership
in the American Numismatic Association (ANA) and Illinois
Numismatic Association (ILNA), and holds regular
membership in the Central States Numismatic Society
(CSNS), Indiana State Numismatic Association (ISNA),
Worldwide Bimetallic Collectors Club (WBCC), and World
Internet Numismatic Society (WINS). Also, he is a member

Club of Terre Haute. In addition, he is the moderator of the Polymer
Currency Club on Yahoo Groups, which he founded in January 2001.
At the present time, Michael is currently the Secretary of ILNA (since 2002)
and does webmaster duties for the Will County Coin Club.

paid in dog snacks. Yes, its a dog - a
beagle/dauchsand mix named Sophie. Sophie is
more multi-tasked than her owner - She is the Head
of Security and also the family comedian - she can
crack people up. But don't let the fact that she is a
dog fool you - she is very smart, but unlike her
owner, she can't grade coins nor answer e-mail.
Sophie comes from the Animal Shelter in Kankakee
County, Illinois, and gets plenty of attention from her
owners.
